SWIMMING

Yippe! It was my dads birthday and we were going swimming! We all prepared to go to my grandads beautiful mansion. In my grandad’s mansion,all my favorite cousins  were all there. I could smell hot dogs sizzling and more food cooked. The smell was in the air! This was the best day of my life!

I quickly put on my swimsuit ,and i jumped in the pool.What a big splash!! My cousins and I were playing on a big float pretending we were pirates. I felt happy and felt that i was a real pirate,sailing the seven seas,searching for treasure until water came i our boat we were SINKING! But just then I saw someone pulling our big float down,it was my dad with a hotdog in his hand! YUMMY!!!

Counting lambs

COUNTING LAMBS

In the olden days, farmers wanted to see inside their animals so they could take more care of them. Ewes are scanned using ultra sound like a female mother to scan their babies too.

When a ewe has have been pregnant for two months and the lambs are due for three months,a scanning operator comes to the farm to scan the sheep.

Each female sheep,one by one,step on the platform. She needs to have an empty stomach to scan clearly. They are hungry because they did not eat half a day. The operator has to be quick because the ewe won’t stand for a few seconds or minutes.

The operator saw that the ewe has one lamb inside,so he marks it orange with a spray. If its having twins,the farmer does not mark it at all,but if its having no babies he marks it purple. The ewes that are having twins are lucky because they get more grass. They need it because she has more lambs.It cost money for each lamb too so if its 1500 well,WOW! Thats a lot of money. The scanning operator can scan cows and dogs too.

In my conclusion i think its important to scan animals because it tells you how much it can eat!
